The Starlights Story

As the old cliché goes, "necessity is the mother of invention." Starlights, Inc. was born from three very specific experiences that are indelibly etched in our RVing minds. The first experience involved making idiots of ourselves while trying to locate our door lock at night after having a delightful dinner complete with wine in Laughlin. During the second experience, we lost all of our fishing equipment and our radio to a thief who found our dark campsite. We were devastated when we awoke to find that all of our fishing gear – some items of which could not be replaced – were gone! The third experience came when we discovered that our gas had been siphoned out of our fuel tank costing over $300 to replace! Then it struck us that if we had a motion light, the thieves may have passed us by for fear of being seen. Better yet, we could see to get into our RV at night instead of fumbling around in the dark!

We looked everywhere for a 12-volt motion light designed just for RV’s, but could not find one. Then, as is the American way, when we could not find what we wanted, we built it ourselves. We call it the The Smart Light®. After we developed the prototype, we decided that others may benefit from the idea as well. So we are introducing The Smart Light® to other RVers who may have experienced either one or all of our camping scenarios.

Our mission is to provide superior exterior lighting products that enhance the overall experience of travelers, at an affordable price, while improving safety and security for our customers.
